Next for the placement of magnets, I made two rings of 1/8" thick steel strips.
The first two tests were disappointing and worrisome because the cones' behavior wasn't as intended.
The round shaped magnets on the cones were attracted to the rings due to their incorrect size.
Fortunately, I chatted with Tracy and what he told me was very useful.
I tried different magnet arrangements with too large a gap between them.
As a result, when I tilted the top cone, the bottom cone was tilted (the bottom cone spins and tilts) in the opposite direction following the isotopic line.
Shown here is a set of pictures, some of them showing a little blur in the cone magnets because I took them with the cones in motion.
