"Don't believe anything I say; learn about what I say and prove it to yourself!"

by Tracy Jones

Number one shows cutting the cones from .010 aluminum sheet purchased from the Boeing surplus store in Seattle. The second shows forming the first cone on top of the bottom board that I used to hold the device. The third is installing the shoulder to the cone. The fourth shows how I reinforced the thin aluminum sheet by making a frame to fit inside the cone and the use of aluminum strips to keep it in place. I used a special slow drying 3M epoxy adhesive labeled DP125 for all the aluminum and magnet work. I used aluminum 1/8inch pop rivets of various sizes and Elmer's wood glue for the wood. The large magnets you see in photo 4 are ones I had collected over a 2 month period while visiting various auto audio shops in Seattle and having them save me there discards. I collected over 300 of various sizes doing this. The small cone is the inner cone at the top that will be pop riveted to the shoulder.
