The first photo shows the small cone ready to be inserted into the large cone. The second shows the insertion. The third shows my use of my heavy magnets as weights to hold the shoulder in place until the glue dried. Fourth shows cutting out the horizontal part of the wing which will be attached to the cone lying on the floor. Please note my measuring rod that I used to make all my circles and pinpoint the placement of my pinions on the wings. The wings were assembled in two parts cut from 4 by 8 sheets of .010 aluminum, same material used for the cones. I was trying to duplicate David's first machine as close as possible except for the size, which I could not afford in material cost. The weight of the metal was about the same that he used.
